Our Story
We could create a reason to celebrate every day of the week if you let us! We don’t believe there’s anything more fulfilling than spending time laughing with friends while enjoying delicious food and unlimited wine. Wine is a food group, right?!

Shantelle and Krystle first met at work as two eager 20-somethings, ready to take on the world! They shared a mutual love for so many things that their working relationship quickly became a great friendship. However, there was one indelible trip to a local Maryland winery that brought us to this moment. In 2016, Shan and KC (as they’re affectionately known to friends) brought their husbands along to the winery, but here’s the thing - their husbands do not drink! It was while Shan and KC took a million photos for the gram, and agonized for several minutes on their caption, that they arrived at #WastedWives. And the rest, as they say, is history!
In 2020, amidst a pandemic, and a racial reckoning in America, Shan and KC decided to share their love of wine and unwavering support of Black-owned businesses, and endeavor to share this joy with people around the country. They eagerly took on the hard work of tasting all these amazing, delicious, Black-owned wines for you (you’re welcome!) and curated wine flights just for you!
From watch parties, to birthdays, and dance parties with your girlfriends, and let’s not forget self-care dates with yourself – we hope you bring Wasted Wives along for all those beautiful moments of life!

Meet the Wives
About Krystle
My passion is telling rich stories that amplify marginalized voices, that resonate across cultures, and integrating new technologies to meet the moment. I am an accomplished television producer with over a decade of experience working in digital media, cable and broadcast industries. I grew up in Atlanta, GA (hey, Black Mecca!), graduated from Howard University in 2008 (H-Uuuu; You Know!), and supporting and centering Black voices has always been the goal.
I’m excited for you all to enjoy these delicious Black-owned wines, and I can’t wait to hear about the adventures and milestones you’ll celebrate over the curated bottles from Wasted Wives.
About Shantelle -
The recurring theme in my life both professionally and personally has been my passion to empower and be in service to Black women and girls. I have more than a decade of experience in marketing and partnerships from working in television and non-profit industries. When I’m not in the marketing world, I am running my organization dedicated to mentoring middle, high school, and college aged young ladies. I’m an occasional tutu wearer that was raised in Maryland, former Miss Bowie State University (BSUuuu), wife to Jarrod, momma to Alec, and I'm unwavering in my commitment to giving back to my community...just your modern day superhero, no big deal.
I’ve searched high and low and couldn’t find a wine club that would give me the option to try different Black-owned wines. I’m so excited to go on this journey with you all as we explore and support this amazing community.
